Los Angeles wildfires in photos: Multiple blazes rage across the city, leaving a path of destruction

Southern California Engulfed by Fierce Wildfires

Southern California is currently battling a series of devastating wildfires fueled by strong Santa Ana winds. As of Wednesday, four major fires are raging across the region with zero containment, forcing tens of thousands of residents to evacuate. Tragically, at least two fatalities have been reported in Los Angeles County.

The largest of these fires is the Palisades Fire, which has consumed nearly 15,800 acres in the hills north of Malibu. The Eaton Fire in the Pasadena area has scorched over 10,600 acres, while the Hurst Fire has burned through more than 500 acres. The Woodley Fire is currently at 30 acres. Additionally, the Olivas Fire is burning in Ventura County.

Governor Gavin Newsom declared a state of emergency on Tuesday as the Palisades Fire erupted, rapidly spreading through dry vegetation. Dramatic images captured the scene: homes engulfed in flames, residents fleeing their homes, and firefighters valiantly battling the blazes amidst the challenging wind conditions.
